Asset and Liability Management at Branch Level

The main focuses of doing business are profits and long-term sustainability. To achieve these, financial institutions in particular need to put a lot of time and efforts. In these eorts, they pay very close attention on managing assets and liabilities to not only minimize risks but also maximize profits. It needs to have active participation from key management possibly creating as a committee (ALCO) to accomplish these two objectives. This course will help the key management (participants) realize the know-how of the bank in the areas of branch asset and liability management.

After completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Create the asset and liability management committee (ALCO) effectively.
  • Participate actively in the management of assets and liabilities.
  • Have critical analysis of balance sheet movement so as to take appropriate action to achieve the objectives of maximizing profits and minimize risks.
  • Identify risks associated with liquidity, interest rates, and exchange rates.
  • Participate actively in a meeting regarding asset and liability management.

Target Participants

Assets and liabilities manager, treasury manager, finance manager, branch manager, chief of teller, chief of accountant, and someone who works related with ALM.
